Calvary Chapel Roatán

Serving Roatán since 2005

About Their Fellowship

Calvary Chapel Roatán was established in 2005 in Sandy Bay, Honduras — a region surrounded by postcard-worthy beaches but burdened by extreme poverty. Behind the picturesque landscape are communities struggling to survive.

Over the years, this church has become a beacon of hope to the people of Sandy Bay, serving not just as a place of worship, but as a conduit for clean water, food, shelter, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through the generosity of supporters, including those involved in the SonRise Mission Fund, God has used this ministry to bring both physical and spiritual restoration to the island.

In recent years, SonRise has sent multiple teams of skilled workers — carpenters, contractors, and laborers — to Roatán to help rebuild the foundation of the church building, which had been severely compromised by termite damage. Through God’s provision, this massive project has now been completed. Praise the Lord!

Current efforts are focused on restoring the facility after that construction, including drywalling, painting, and repairing the roof, ensuring the space continues to be a sanctuary for both spiritual and community renewal.
