Calvary Chapel Roatán

Serving Roatán since 2005

Sharing Christ in the Heart of the Caribbean

Calvary Chapel Roatán was established in 2005 in Sandy Bay, Honduras — a region surrounded by postcard-worthy beaches but burdened by deep poverty. Behind the beauty of the Caribbean are families and communities struggling to survive.

Over the years, this church has become a beacon of hope for the people of Roatán, serving not only as a place of worship, but as a conduit for clean water, food, shelter, and the life-changing message of the Gospel.

Through the generosity of supporters, including those involved in the SonRise Mission Fund, God has used this ministry to bring both physical and spiritual restoration to the island.

In recent years, SonRise has sent multiple teams of skilled workers — carpenters, contractors, and laborers — to help rebuild the church’s foundation, which had been severely compromised by termite damage.

Through God’s provision, that major project is now complete. Praise the Lord!

Current efforts are focused on restoring and improving the church facility — painting, repairing, and creating welcoming spaces for worship, youth ministry, and community outreach. These updates ensure the building continues to serve as a sanctuary of hope for all who come to hear God’s Word.

Calvary Chapel Roatán continues to shine the light of Christ in the Bay Islands — making disciples, building families, and reaching the community with the transforming power of the Gospel.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”Matthew 28:19
